Examming Codes of Ethics

Here are three ideals from the code of Ethics that I picked to talk about, yet all of  the codes are so meaningful

Responsibilities to Children

Ideals

1-1.1        To be familiar with the early base of early childhood education and to stay informed through continuing education and training…….This is why I’m in school today! This helps  me to in helping others. To feel confident in what I believe in, to enhance what I feel passionate about!

Responsibilities to Families

Ideals

1-2.8 To help family members enhance  their understanding of their children and support the continuing development of their skills as parents………. Recently, I realized an important piece of information that I have not shared with families until they started child care which is sharing that we do assessments Brigance,, Ages and Stages, and DECA all to get a better Idea of how to help their children’s development in each domain. I am turning that around with my next tour.

 Responsibilities to Colleagues

Ideals/Principles

We shall recognize the contribution of colleagues to our program and not participate in the practice that diminish their reputation or impair their effectiveness in working with children and families………………These is a code that I will put in some of my teachers evualtion to remember that their perpetuated negative energy will not be tolerated, because it does affect others staff performance in attitude with families and staff.

  1. As always Val great post! I love how much we relate to one another. Your last ideal is something that you are going to bring up in your evaluations. I myself am thinking it would be a nice thing to address in a center team meeting. This is very important. I have felt a lot of negative energy at my center as the semester is winding down and I am not sure everyone realizes that we need to build back up the positive energy at our center. As always Val it has been a pleasure!

  2. Hi Val, I am posting my note under this post because I have no idea where else to put it LOL! I just want to say that it has been such a pleasure talking to you and having you in this course with me. I appreciate all the feedback that I have gotten from you from our discussions in class and I want you to know that although we are ending this course, feel free to call or text me anytime with any questions, thoughts, or anything. You were the first one in the course to reach out to me outside of messaging so I appreciate that!

  3. Hi Valerie,
For this week's assignment I chose you as someone whom I would like to leave a note to. It has truly been a pleasure working with you throughout this course. You really seem to be driven and dedicated to what you do. You can see your passion through your writing. I really hope we take a few other courses together as well. I wanted to take this time to wish you the best of luck with your future courses at Walden and remind you to always remember that you are a true inspiration to the field of Early Childhood Education. Don't lose touch!
