Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community:National/Federal Level


 
If I could have any job I wanted in the ECE world the three that I have picked are right below:-)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Policy Analyst, Postsecondary Education/Workforce Development

  • Expertise in federal and/or state postsecondary education policies, particularly student financial aid.
  • Awareness of workforce development and/or adult education policies.  
  • Commitment to improving the circumstances of vulnerable and low-income people and communities of color, particularly low-income and underprepared students.
  • Ability to synthesize and effectively communicate ideas persuasively and creatively to influence diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and advance a policy agenda.
  • Ability to manage complex and multiple tasks and produce deliverables within required timelines.
  • Ability to identify, understand, and develop responses to technical assistance needs, including translating policy ideas to states and regions and disseminating best practices.
  • Exceptional research, analytical, written and oral communication, and technology skills.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a drive to contribute original work.
  • Ability to analyze, summarize, and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data is desirable.
  • At least two (2) years of policy analysis experience within relevant content areas is required.
  • Master’s degree in public policy, administration, management, or other relevant field is strongly preferred.  Bachelor’s degree is required.

This would be a dream come true to actually work put my classroom work into action by working for Center Law and Social Polices CLASP .  I want to know as much as possible about the political parts of early education and be a part of policy making.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. NAEYC  Director   Job and Family Services


The Director of Job and Family Services is an executive leadership position under the direction of the County Administration and is responsible for managing one of the county’s largest agencies. The Director oversees 670 FTEs, manages an annual operating budget of $73.3 million, and has an executive staff of seven employees, which includes three Assistant Directors and a Chief Operating Officer.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public or Health Administration or a similar field; a Master's degree is preferred. Additionally, candidates should have at least ten (10) years of executive level management and administrative experience in a large and complex health, human services, mental health or social services organization. Starting salary will be dependent upon qualifications and is accompanied by an excellent benefits package. Resume review will begin December 14, 2015; position is open until fill

 

The more I think about this job the more I would feel very nervous  to apply . I have twenty five employees that work under me; I could not image how to serve 670!! Yet it sounds very interesting.

 


Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor in Family Studies;

 

Family Studies & Social Work: Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor to teach courses in the Family Studies undergraduate program using both online and face-to-face course formats. Course may include, but are not limited to, Diverse Family Systems  Across the Life Cycle, Research and Evaluation Methods, Child Development, Adolescent Development, and Later Life families. The person in this position will be responsible for teaching a full-load (12 credit hours/semester) of Family Studies courses each semester. Responsibilities may also include committee work, student advising and other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Required: Earned master's degree (for appointment as Instructor), PhD (for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor) in Family Studies, Human Development, or a related field; knowledge of and experience with multicultural population. Desire: Professional or academic background in Social Work; demonstrated record of teaching excellence; experience with online teaching, skills to incorporate technology in teaching.

 

Position available for the 2016 spring and fall semesters or for the 2016-17 academic year, depending on timing of conclusion of the search.

I would love to teach at this campus !!!!!!!!!!!! 

The only two reasons I could not apply for this job are;

1. I have not earned my Master’s yet and    2. The job has been opened since November 1st  they may have found someone…. But I’m still going to call and summit a resume that they can keep   if anything else should pop up.

Exploring Roles in the ECE Community: Local and State Levels


When I decide to go to grad school and major in Early Childhood Education,  I did it because I love working with  children and now I want to work for  children. I am so excited to explore areas in education outside the classroom into another form of advocating.  Therefore I have listed community jobs that are appealing to me and their mission and vision for  the community.

Cradle Cincinnati

Mission Cradle Cincinnati Connections. Cradle Cincinnati Connections is a federal Healthy Start program with the mission of reducing the rate of infant mortality and improving perinatal outcomes within in four Cincinnati neighborhoods: Price Hill, North and South Fairmont, and the Villages of Roll Hill. This can really practice is something that I’m interested in because it’s part of reducing infant mortality. It’s an opportunity to help mothers and fathers in their quests of obtaining a better life for their child and the resources that are given to them, that they actually use it’s gratifying and rewarding to be a part of a successful accomplishment in saving the child’s life.

this is another organization that I will be quite interested in working for because the coaches are assigned to childcare centers to help them reach age rated*through their performance management work.

In all of these positions that I mentioned there are job opportunities that are interesting to me they range around the 0 to 3 population and the skills to have jobs like this must include experience in early childhood education understanding early childhood development having the experience of working with children and families and being able to relate to diverse culture.

Cradle Cincinnati is looking for a person that has that understands the significance and the severity and mortality. Cradle Cincinnati is looking for person that is experienced in the interim population has compassion in passionate characteristics to want to reach out to families and find creative ways to invite them in to learning about how to care for their child.

 Ohio Job and Family Services; the experience needed for this job especially working in the childcare center and knowing the bylaws licensing colds regulations and restrictions they want person who’s actually worked in a childcare center. I will have the skills for this job due to the fact that I’ve worked in childcare for many years and I understand that licensing takes Barry serious the safety of the building the children’s needs medication forms and family involvement.

Ohio Department of Education; to be able to work for the Ohio Department of Education I would have to have a great understanding of the child’s needs from 0 to 5 years old and a childcare center. In order to write a policies and guidelines I must understand and know and be able to implement milestones for each age and developmentally appropriate stage in a child’s life. The skills for this job comes with creativity of how to help teachers and administrators be successful in the paper trail and data on a daily basis.
